How do I get my ebook after I buy it?

Within a few minutes of your purchase, you will receive an email from BookFunnel (help@bookfunnel.com), not from me. That email contains a download button. Click it, and BookFunnel will detect your device and walk you through getting the book onto your Kindle, phone, tablet, or computer. The whole process usually takes under a minute.

What is BookFunnel?

BookFunnel is the trusted delivery service that handles all my digital books. Every book you buy from me lives permanently in your BookFunnel library, so you can re-download any time, on any device. Log in with the email you used at checkout: https://my.bookfunnel.com

I did not get my delivery email. What now?

Three steps, in order:

Check your spam or promotions folder. The BookFunnel email sometimes lands there because you have never received mail from them before.
Still nothing after five minutes? Go straight to your BookFunnel library at https://my.bookfunnel.com and log in with the email you used at checkout. Your books are there.
If neither works, reach me through the [Contact page] and I will make it right.

How do I read the book on my Kindle?

BookFunnel handles this for you. When you click your download link, choose Kindle, and it will walk you through sending the book directly to your device, step by step. You do not need any technical skill. If you can click a link, you can read the book. For device-specific troubleshooting, BookFunnel's full help center is at https://help.bookfunnel.com

Can I read on my phone or tablet instead?

Yes. The same delivery page offers options for iPhone, iPad, Android, Kobo, Nook, and plain old computer. Pick your device and follow the steps. You can also download your book to more than one device.

What order should I read the Lady Raven series in?

My Literary Fiction, (The Trial of Mr. Brown, Contraband, The Loaner, Violet Wine) stand alone. You can read them any time, in any order, with no prior knowledge of the series.

How dark are these books?

Genuinely dark, and I will not pretend otherwise. The Lady Raven series contains violence, some of it graphic. It contains demons who bargain, possess, and destroy, and they are treated as real evils, not aesthetic props. It deals with war, betrayal, the trafficking of human beings, and what corruption costs the people caught in it. Characters you love will suffer.

Here is what you will not find: the least bit of explicit sexual content, or evil glorified in any way. I write from a conviction that darkness is real and worth depicting honestly, precisely because the light is realer still.

If you are a reader who wants grit without smut, and horror that must be faced and vanquished, you are in the right place. If you prefer your fantasy gentle, my literary fiction shelf is the softer door, though even there, I make no promises of comfort.

How long does shipping take for paperbacks?

Signed and domestic paperbacks ship from my office in Michigan, typically within 3 business days of your order. International orders are printed and shipped by my print partner closer to where you live, which keeps shipping costs sane. You will receive tracking by email when your order ships.

What makes a signed copy different?

I sign it. Personally, by hand, at my desk. Signed copies ship only from Michigan, so international delivery takes a little longer than the standard edition.

What is your return policy?

Physical books: if something arrives damaged or wrong, contact me through the [Contact page] within 30 days and I will replace it at no cost to you. Digital books are delivered instantly and cannot be returned, but if you have a delivery problem, I will always fix it.

How can I pay?

All major credit and debit cards, PayPal, Shop Pay, and Apple Pay. Choose your method at checkout.

Is there a community?
